Congratulations to the University鈥檚 UP Artists!
In this cycle, 35 of the 48 artistic members of the UP Community are from UP 茄子视频app (UPD). Of the 35, 23 are ranked as UP Artist I, eight as UP Artist II, and four as UP Artist III.
For Calendar Year (CY) 2023-2025, UPD had 16 UP Artists (13 UP Artist I, three UP Artist II); while for CY 2024-2026 there were 19 UP Artists (10 UP Artist I, five UP Artist II, four UP Artist III).
Of the 16 UP Artists for CY 2023-2025, one belonged to film, three from literature, two from music, five from theatre, one from tv / radio / digital media, two from the visual arts, and two from the combined disciplines of theatre and literature.
On the other hand, of the 19 UP Artists from CY 2024-2026, one was from film; six from literature; one from music; two from theatre; one from tv / radio / digital media; six from visual arts; and one each from the combined disciplines of film, tv / radio / digital media, theatre arts, literature; and film, literature.
In all, of the 35 UP Artists from UPD, two belong to film; nine to literature; three to music; seven to theatre; two to tv / radio / digital media; eight to visual arts; two to the combined disciplines of theatre and literature; and one each to the combined disciplines of film, tv / radio / digital media, theatre arts, literature; and film, literature.
The UPD artistic members ranked as UP Artist I for CY 2023-2025 were Daniel A. Coquila from the UP Film Institute under the visual arts; visual arts Ma. Cecilia C. Dela Rosa (College of Arts and Letters / CAL; theatre arts; literature), Marie Jocelyn U. Marfil, PhD (College of Music / CMu, music); Roselle V. Pineda (CAL, tv / radio / digital media); Elyrah L. Salanga-Torralba, PhD (CAL, literature); Oscar T. Serqui帽a Jr., PhD (CAL, theatre arts); Maree Barbara M. Tan-Tiongco (UP Theater Complex, theatre arts); Pe帽afrancia Raniela E. Barbaza, PhD (CAL, literature); Ma. Amihan Bonifacio-Ramolete, PhD (CAL, theatre arts); U Z. Eliserio (CAL, literature); Abdulmari de Leon Imao Jr. (College of Fine Arts / CFA, visual arts); Maria Christine M. Muyco, PhD (CMu, music); and Sir Anril P. Tiatco, PhD聽(CAL, theatre arts).
Those ranked UP Artist II (CY 2023-2025) were Amparo Adelina C. Umali III, PhD (Center for International Studies, theatre arts); Vladimeir B. Gonzales, PhD (CAL; theatre arts, literature); and Patrick F. Campos, PhD (College of Media and Communication / CMC, film).
For CY 2024-2026, those ranked UP Artist I were Jonas U. Baes, PhD (CMu, music); Sydney Paige P. Guerrero (CAL, literature); Ma. Rita B. Gudi帽o, (CFA, visual arts); Lisa Ito-Tapang (CFA, visual arts); Mark Louie L. Lugue (CAL, visual arts); Daphne-Tatiana P. Tolentino-Canlas, PhD (CMC, tv / radio / digital media); Dayang Magdalena Nirvana T. Yraola, PhD (CFA, visual arts); Cecilia S. De La Paz, PhD (CAL, visual arts); Jose Wendell P. Capili, PhD (CAL, literature); and Arbeen R. Acu帽a (CAL, literature).
Meanwhile, those ranked UP Artist II (CY 2024-2026) were John Carlo V. Pagunaling (CAL, theatre arts); Jay Jomar F. Quintos (CAL, literature); Wilson A. Lumbao Jr. (CFA, visual arts); Dexter M. Santos (CAL, theatre arts), and Will P. Ortiz (CAL, literature).
The four UP Artist III (CY 2024-2026) were Sari Raissa Ll. Dalena (CMC, film); Eugene Y. Evasco, PhD (CAL, literature); Eulalio R. Guieb III, PhD (CMC; film; tv / radio / digital media; theatre arts, literature); and Rolando B. Tolentino, PhD (CMC; film, literature).
Two of the UP Artists are REPS (Research, Extension, and Professional Staff) and the rest are faculty members.
CAL had the highest number of UP Artists at 19, followed by CMC with six and CFA with five.
The conferment of UP Artist ranks was established through the UP Arts Productivity System (APS) by the UP Board of Regents at its 1239th meeting in December 2008. According to the UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the APS was conceived as a counterpart of the Scientific Productivity System and 鈥渟eeks to promote outstanding productivity in the creative arts and arts scholarship in the service of national development.鈥 A UP Artist receives an annual monetary award for three years (UP Artist I: PHP150,000, UP Artist II: PHP200,000, and UP Artist III: PHP250,000).
